Our SEO Process – Analytics and Reporting
We at G Web Pro follow guidelines set up by Google so that we can attain the best results for our clients. As outlined in earlier pages, we employ various tools and techniques to achieve higher rankings for websites. After SEO implementations, it is time for us to monitor and measure performance of a website from every aspect and present all observations in a report.
Google Analytics is a free tool offered by Google that helps us monitor traffic to a website from every aspect. This allows us to know the source of traffic, quality of traffic, number of visitors to a website, which pages are they visiting including entry and exit pages, frequently searched keywords, etc. These numbers help us to analyze our efforts and take corrective action wherever needed. This is an essential part of SEO.
Whenever we implement SEO, we set up a Google Analytics account for the website and install analytics code on the website. As soon as the code in integrated into the website, Google Analytics starts tracking traffic coming into the website. The next step is selecting the metrics or indicators that we would like to be measured followed by dimensions for these metrics which in most cases are landing pages and keywords that attract traffic. We also apply filters to get an exclusive idea about organic traffic to a particular website which is optional.
Some important aspects that come across are through Google Analytics are:
- Which landing pages attract more traffic?
- Which pages have more bounce rate for traffic?
- What is the number of page views?
- Which pages have higher rate of conversions?
- Which keywords are attracting more traffic? Are they a part of our SEO process?
- Which keywords have more conversions from SEO?
- Which is the combination of keywords and landing pages works best and which is the worst?
- Entry and exit pages of visitors when they visit the website
- Duration for which a visitor stays on the site
- How many visitors actually fill or click on the contact form
- Time of the day that has maximum engagement and visitors
- Detailed keyword analysis
As traffic increases and improves after our SEO implementations, Google Analytics starts showing a traffic report indicative of various parameters that reflect a website’s online performance. These reports can be daily, weekly, monthly and also show the source of traffic whether Google, Bing, Yahoo, or other referral sources.
Reporting
The logical step after analysis is reporting. Everything that we understand, analyze and figure out through Google Analytics is presented in a report format. We usually extract monthly reports and send them to our clients for them to understand how their website in faring in the online space. There are advanced options for more details on website traffic that can be availed through different menu options given in the Analytics dashboard.
We can also get customized reports and create categories through the ‘Customization’ tab given in Analytics. This allows us to modify specific reports while keeping all the data confidential. Custom reports can also be backed up with Custom Tables in the premium version of Google Analytics. This option helps to get accurate reports with high precision data to understand and analyze vital business metrics.
