Frequently Asked Questions

The process is straightforward. The government reimburses you for up to 90% of eligible expenses. However, the maximum amount of the grant is $15,000. Once we have completed work on your digital adoption plan, you need to submit the necessary invoices to receive the grant payment.

To guarantee compliance with CDAP, the Government of Canada has provided a list of partners who are approved in its Digital Advisor Marketplace. So, to ensure eligibility for program benefits, it is best to choose a company like G Web Pro that is on the list of Digital Advisors. As approved digital advisors for CDAP, we provide support and expertise to ensure your digital transformation.

Yes. It covers 90% of your eligible costs, up to $15,000, including applicable taxes. Hence, the amount you receive for the grant also accounts for the taxes associated with the eligible expenses incurred during the digital adoption plan.

If there is an issue with the digital adoption plan, G Web Pro will take a collaborative approach with CDAP to resolve them. CDAP works closely with small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) to address the concerns and find suitable solutions. There are opportunities to modify the plan if necessary to ensure it meets the program’s requirements while also aligning with the digital transformation goals of the SME. CDAP supports SMEs by fostering a collaborative environment, with flexibility that ensures the successful development and approval of your digital adoption plan.

This entirely depends on the chosen identity verification method. Here are some things you should expect:
Instant Confirmation with Verified.Me: An SME can choose identity verification through the online automated service (verified.me), in which case their eligibility can be confirmed instantly. This streamlined process ensures quick results and allows for expedited assessment.
Manual Identity Verification Appointment: When an SME is unable to complete their identity verification using the online automated service, they can request a video conference appointment with a CDAP officer. This is for manual identity verification, and it may take up to five business days to arrange an appointment, as the identity verification needs to be done manually.

The timeline for an SME working with a digital advisor like G Web Pro within the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) is as follows:
Eligibility Confirmation and Grant Agreement: Once the SMEs eligibility is confirmed, they will have up to six months to accept the terms of the CDAP Grant Agreement. This initial step formalizes the SMEs participation in the program and sets the foundation for the digital transformation journey.
Digital Adoption Plan and Invoice Submission: Within the CDAP program, the SME will have up to nine months from the acceptance of the Grant Agreement to submit a Digital Adoption Plan and invoice from G Web Pro. This step is crucial for the SME to receive the Boost Your Business technology grant, which supports their digital transformation efforts.

Yes, businesses that do not currently meet the $500k annual revenue requirement for CDAP eligibility can still apply for CDAP Stream 2. If they meet the financial requirement for the 2023 tax year, they would be eligible to apply to the program the following year.
CDAP is designed to support businesses throughout their digital transformation journey, and it takes into account their growth and financial progress. As long as the business achieves the $500k annual revenue requirement in the designated financial year, it can apply for CDAP Stream 2 in the subsequent year. It is important to note that CDAP has been approved for the next four years, providing businesses with a reliable framework to plan their digital transformation initiatives.

The youth wage subsidy is an additional benefit within CDAP that aims to facilitate the placement of youth within eligible SMEs. This initiative fosters skills development and enhances the digital capabilities of both the business and young workers. Here is important information regarding the youth wage subsidy within the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP):
Eligibility Criteria: An SME will be eligible for a youth placement if they meet the program's eligibility criteria. The SME must either be approved for a grant (specifically, for a digital adoption plan) or have a digital adoption plan that was developed through one of the programs recognized by CDAP and is less than a year old.
Confirmation and Redirection: Once the SMEs eligibility for the youth wage subsidy is confirmed based on the above criteria, they will be redirected to the Youth Placement provider. This step ensures that the SME can benefit from the wage subsidy program to support their workforce development and provide opportunities for young talent.

The credit check is conducted for both the company and the individuals involved in the grant application process. Here are the details:
Company Credit Check: The CDAP program requires a credit check to be performed on the company itself. This evaluation helps assess the financial stability and creditworthiness of the business.
Shareholders Credit Check: In addition to the company credit check, all shareholders who hold more than 25% ownership in the company are also subject to a credit check. This includes a review of their individual credit history and financial standing.
By conducting credit checks on both the company and significant shareholders, CDAP aims to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the financial health and risk profile associated with the grant application. This process helps maintain the integrity of the program and ensures responsible allocation of funding.

Yes, if someone owns multiple businesses that are eligible for the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) grant, they can apply for the grant for each qualified business. Similarly, they can submit separate applications for the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) loan for each of their businesses. However, each business must meet the eligibility criteria for the CDAP grant individually. The client should ensure that each business's digital adoption plan and associated application meet the requirements specified by CDAP.
To apply for the BDC loan, businesses need to go through the application process separately for each of their businesses. This ensures that each business's unique needs and financial considerations are taken into account when determining loan eligibility and terms.

For the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) loan, shareholder signatures are required from major shareholders holding more than 25% of the company's common shares. Minor shareholders with less than 3% ownership typically do not need to sign. BDC focuses on major shareholders to ensure active involvement from key stakeholders who significantly impact the company's decision-making and financial standing.

Yes, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) does not engage with organizations that promote violence or sexual exploitation or operate outside the boundaries of the law. These industries are not eligible for the BDC loan.
Furthermore, non-profit organizations are ineligible for the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) grant, and, as a result, are unable to apply for the BDC loan. BDC maintains a strict stance on industry involvement to ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards. For further clarification on eligible industries and specific requirements, it is advisable to consult with the BDC directly or refer to their official resources and guidelines.

The CDAP BDC loan has a separate and distinct process, and it is not impacted by any previous loans someone may have with BDC. Regardless of existing loans, the client will go through the same application process as any other applicant for the CDAP BDC loan. The previous loan(s) with BDC do not pose any direct influence on the eligibility or application procedure for the CDAP BDC loan. Each loan application is evaluated independently, ensuring equal opportunities for all applicants.

Firstly, please ensure that you provide the exact same business information that was submitted in your Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) application. This includes using the same email address associated with your Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) personalized link or application when applying for the BDC loan.
Additionally, it is essential that the legal business name and the business address provided in the BDC loan application match the information provided in the CDAP application. By maintaining consistency in these details, you can minimize potential errors or discrepancies during the application process.

The 12-month postponement refers to a period during which no loan payment is required following the authorization of the loan. After the loan is approved, the borrower does not need to make any repayments for the initial 12 months. The repayment of the loan begins once this 12-month period has elapsed. This postponement provides borrowers with temporary relief from immediate repayment obligations, allowing them to allocate resources toward their business growth and development during the initial stages.
It is important to note that specific terms and conditions regarding the 12-month postponement may vary, and it is advisable to consult with the lending institution or refer to the loan agreement for precise details related to the postponement period.
